More is more in the interior world this year and pattern is pivotal… At Axminster Carpets, we couldn’t be happier about it.
Maison & Objet kicked off the year with a spectacle of pattern in Paris - a catalogue of colours and patterns fused and conflicted, creating a dynamic sense of aesthetic discord.
Monochrome graphics, geometrics and psychedelic patterns were accentuated by bold pops of colour (a few of our favourites being Mambo Unlimited Ideas and Jonathan Adler). Amongst these was a swarm of botanical prints… designers channelling tropical vibes through hibiscus flowers, ferns and exotic animals. More traditional florals were reinvented and re energised by contemporary colours - turquoise greens and hot pinks - which added to the overriding feeling of frenzy.
Maison & Objet is one of the largest and most renowned design shows and really sets the tone for trends throughout the year. To recreate this look try Axminster Carpets, Shoreditch, Jitterbug available in four colour ways.
Or, if you are hoping to make a more striking design statement, why not opt for our Royal Borough, Kensington carpet which features a bold print inspired by cubist architecture.
More of a floral fan? Fear not, the Royal Seaton, Calico carpet in light mink or shadow green provides a beautiful, on-trend design incorporating accent colours.
We might be bias but the gorgeous tactility of our wool works wonders with pattern, adding real depth and character to your space!
We are super excited about the move away from minimalism to a more progressive design ethos, embracing a new aesthetic of freedom and expression. Be sure to follow our Instagram page @axminstercarpets to stay tuned for more exciting releases and design inspiration throughout 2018!
