Axminster CarpetsNews and mediaBlueberry Lawn by Tintawn Carpets Carpets for Quinessential Living, inspired by the Bloomsbury Group Combining quality and innovation with individually and contemporary flair, The Tintawn Weaving Company have launched a new twist range made of 80% Wool, 10% Nylon and 10% Polyester utilising a new twin fold yarn. The collection, called Blueberry Lawn, not only introduces a colour palette of 25 new shades but also emphasises a new fine point definition in the carpet. Inspiration for this new range is drawn from Bloomsbury, a group of painters, designers, writers and philosophers renowned for revitalising the British avant-garde in the early 20th Century. Charleston, a farmhouse in Sussex, became the retreat of members of the Bloomsbury Circle. This country home represents a unique example of interior décor, furnished in an eccentric and idiosyncratic manner. Decorated walls, doors, furniture, screens and ceramics with spontaneous and unique graphics created dramatic trompe l'oeil effects. Textiles and floorcoverings were occasionally bizarre in their design but contributed to the quintessential lifestyle attributed to Charleston. The Blueberry Lawn colour palette ranges from soft, subtle, sensual neutrals to bold, bright mid-tones to deep, dark, decadent colours associated with Charleston's quintessential décor. The floorcovering not only has a resilient pile which is easy to maintain, retains warmth, offers comfort and stays looking good for years, but also presents an unusual and exciting new concept for interiors. The carpet range and literature are available from major independent carpet retailers in the UK. In order to enhance the concept and theme, Curragh Tintawn have kindly been granted permission to reproduce photographic material from the Charleston interior by the Charleston Trust - a charity set up to restore and maintain homes of the Bloomsbury Group Artists. Blueberry Lawn is available from all good carpet retailers priced at around £35 per square metre. For further information on Blueberry Lawn and other Tintawn Ranges, visit www.tintawncarpets.com |
