Your lounge carpet needs to be quite hard-wearing. You will probably be spending quite some time in the lounge, perhaps watching TV, listening to music or reading your favourite magazine. Most people choose a restful colour scheme. Always be aware, however, that too many neutral tones can be as stressful as clashing bold colours. One solution is to keep walls and paintwork neutral and add a darker carpet to give the room a solid base.
